Nikolai Drakov

Biography

Born from a Russian woman, Vanna, in 1812, when Moses Forrester on his first mission as a Pathfinder got stranded and assumed that he was not going to be recovered, met a gypsy woman whom he fell in love with and told all about himself. Due to a series of coincidences he was able to father a child, and when he was eventually recovered, he made the decision to not tell the Search & Recovery team about the pregnancy, allowing her to keep it

They met an army officer Nikolai Sorokin, who fell in love with his mother, and took them in and they lived for a time, until he failed in the Decembrist Uprising and was sent in exile in Siberia, they went with him out of obligation until his death less than a year latter. It wasn't much later that Vanna was raped and murdered, when Nikoli only 15 at the time was unable to defend her, gaining the long scar down the left side of his face as a reminder.

At 24, he became a seaman, traveling across the oceans and learning a trade, by 38 he had his own ship, but was starting to run into the issue that he had managed to inherit the antiaging drugs that had been coursing through his fathers system at the time of his conception, and looked much younger than he was. As he had already amassed his fortune, by 1867 he moved on, he sold his ship, and moved to Boston, now 55, but looked like he could have been his own son. Taking up residence in the affluent Beacon Hill area, he took up stock trading and multiplied his fortune, but once again his lack of aging started to catch up to him, and he moved on again to England, where 70, and decidedly wealthy, he took up a relatively sedate lifestyle, partaking of the arts and enjoying society, now settled into just enjoying the mystery that his aging allow him to have around him, bribing as needed to assuage undue suspicion.

He crossed paths with Sofia Falco, a member of the TimeKeepers, who took him to be a possible deserter, or member of the underground. When she discovered the truth of his story, she took an immediate interest, due largely to the coincidence of their shared history with Forrester. She brought him to the 27th Century, and got him implanted and educated to the current levels. He then became a high ranking member of the TimeKeeper inner circle, dedicated for the time to the cessation of the Time Wars through any means necessary.

Drakov drew disillusioned with the future he saw soon enough, feeling that while there were obvious advances in technology, that the culture and nature of the people had devolved, allowing for things that were more of quantity than quality, and was therefore not fully invested when after the destruction of most of the TimeKeepers, he and Sofia the remaining two active members struck out to both cause an incident and exact revenge on Forrester (see Story Arc 4)
