Reese was a soldier in the Temporal Army who was unfortunately on a mission to medieval England when his floater squad was set upon by natives and killed, he managed to survive, and secure himself away awaiting extraction, but for some reason his tracker beacon never led the search and retrieval squads to him or his dead teammates. Left in the past with a working chronoplate, he decided to go rouge and ended up eventually joining up with the Underground. Reese took it upon himself to punish the bandits who had killed his fellow soldiers, transporting them back to prehistoric times to deal with the local wildlife on their own, and with his reputation and safety secure proceeded to setup a comfortable lifestyle in a small cabin secluded in the woods. Equipped with a smattering of modern conveniences that he picked up on jaunts to the future, he allowed himself to retire in peace, occasionally assisting other members of the Underground along their way.
Hunter unfortunately, or fortunately depending on whose point of view you take, got caught up in the first adjustment mission, when he noticed all the activity that was going on by time agents and other personnel. He ended up assisting the adjustment team in dealing with Goldblum, due partially to a desire to do the right thing, but also with the somewhat universal understanding as a member of the Underground, that it is in their interest as much as anyone else’s that the continuity of the timeline remain stable. In the end Reese decided that the indigenous person Andre de’ la Croix was worth saving when she was left in a position do die as collateral damage. He took her in and proceeded to show her the nature of when and where he was from, and what possibilities might be available to her. Unfortunately in working towards getting her an education implant, he was mistaken for someone involved in the Timekeeper Conspiracy, and was killed.
